I just saw W’s homemade tonkotsu ramen and was literally drooling over my desk. OMG. He made the stock from scratch, the pork, not the noodles but STILL. The amount of work that went into it – I’m not sure if I can replicate that. Would love to try it out though. Anyway, seriously, W takes home-cooked cooking to the next level. You should see the macarons that he bakes. W, can you please train T?!
SO this week or the last two have been purely insane. I’ve been in endless meetings, on work travels – day trip to KL followed by a week long at State side. It’s a good thing I pre-scheduled the week’s posts otherwise it’ll be rather quiet on this space.
Since I got back, the last few days have been hectic! Returned from 28 hours of flying, transists, layovers, delays and commute, slept at 5am and was right back at my work desk by 10am. I’ll be flying off again – fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong so pardon the silence if I don’t have time to blog (I’ll try!). I promise that I have loads to share when I’m back! And I hope to try out more recipes to share.
Also, the BIG MOVE is happening soon. Not the office move which is also happening around the same time (I can’t wait) but my parents are moving out of the house that I grew up in and have lived in for two decades. I’ve massive spring-cleaning to do and we’ll likely have a yard sale. I’ll also be selling off some of my stuff and have already put aside 3 (almost) brand new pairs of Cole Haan flats for sale. So stay tuned for that..
Meanwhile, here are 7 of my friend’s blogsites to check out while I’m away. Enjoy.
1) W’s blog which I’ve mentioned numerous times. But do yourself a favor and DON’T EVER READ IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. Trust me, those food pictures will make you hungry. I’ve done that many times and my stomach started growling. W’s blog is possibly my favorite local food blog here actually and guess what? He’s not Singaporean!
2) I love Ash’s blog especially when it comes to home decors, throwing fine parties and fashion. She had two FAB posts on Greece and Goa (part of her Escapist travel series which I was honored to partake in). Incredibly well-written and the post on Santorini has made me longed for it more. I’ve always wanted to visit Santorini and even more so now! I’m now thinking of perhaps running the Athens Marathon and combine Santorini into it. How, baby?
3) Angela just wrote about her para-gliding experience which again, is making me want to do it right away. I’ve considered sky diving before but when my colleagues tried it out in Oregon, I bailed. B.T tells me that he preferred para-gliding to sky diving as it was the closest thing to flying. The latter is more of an adrenaline rush but gliding allows you to soak in and savor the moment. Where’s a good place to para-glide?
4) Z’s my lovely pretty friend who lives in Tokyo. Mom, you should read her blog because her maltese Musashi looks exactly like the Fur Rug
She’s also talented and sells her home-made crafts on Etsy so if you’re into crafts and DIY homestuff, you’ll definitely enjoy her blog.
5) Bev’s blog was one of the first few that I started reading on LJ when I first started blogging late 2004. This tiny girl EATS a lot and it’s great that she’s now back in Singers because that means, she’ll be eating her way through here and I can find more food recommendations on her blog. Hehhe. She writes mostly about food, her baby boy H and fashion so if those are up your alley, you’ll enjoy her reads.
6) I don’t think anyone needs introduction to Janice’s space. I used to get triathlon tips from her when we were both doing the sport but now both of us have stopped. She has the cutest lil’ bub right now and the pictures are sooo adorable. Anyone that loves dogs will love her blog too.
7) R’s site is one of my favorite too. If anyone is heading up to Seattle, definitely check out her blog. I was in Seattle last weekend and she told me to check out this clam chowder and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I was raving about it on FB and my friends told me that the one at Fisherman’s Wharf in SF is better. Really? This one was so scrummy, I don’t think any other chowder can top it. I shall decide when I am over in SF later this year.
Happy Thursday everyone! The weekend is almost here! Hope you’ll have a good if not great one!
For more great blogsites that I read, check out my ‘links’ page above.
