Jogger pants

November 15th, 2014 No Comments »

If you’ve not heard or seen the jogger pants trend..well it’s here and I’ve gotten sucked into it. When you work for a company that exposes you to trends, it’s quite hard not to get into it sometimes. While waiting to get my hands on Publish’s jogger pants, I found a super comfy pair by Clu at Shopbop. These are going to be my new favorite airplane pants too!

Okay if you are still lost.. the video shows how to pin roll your pants/jeans. So this trend started because sneaker lovers wanted to show off their cool kicks. There IS a proper way to roll up your pants/jeans and there are dos and donts! With everyone pin rolling their jeans and pants, brands came up with jogger pants which solves the problem. So that’s how jogger pants came into the picture and how the trends have started and even celebrities and fashion bloggers are rocking it. So now you know.. random post over. Bye.

Luxottica Spring Summer 2015 Preview

November 9th, 2014 No Comments »

My preference in accessories changes and shifts over the years. It used to be statement earrings and necklaces and loads of arm candy. Lately, I’ve toned down on the arm candy – still love ’em, but prefer subtle layering pieces. While I still wear my statement colorful necklaces occasionally, I’m more often seen wearing classic delicate necklaces, bracelets and rings these day. Perhaps it’s age or a phase *shrugs. One accessory that I’ve been more keen on is actually eye wear. I have a number of optical spectacles (no degree, just for vanity :P) and do appreciate trendy but practical sunnies. It was quite fitting when Luxottica kindly invited me to their Spring Summer 2015 preview and I had a chance to browse through a variety of brands including Ray.Ban, Prada, Miu Miu, Oliver Peoples, Paul Smith, Tiffany, Burberry, Armani and a couple others. It was indeed an eye-opener (pun intended) and a lovely preview of what’s to come or actually, most are already available at stores.

Although these are from the Spring Summer collection, the colors aren’t as vibrant and colorful as I’ve expected them to be. It feels more like Fall Winter color tones actually which makes it more wearable despite the quirky trendy frame shapes and decorative details. There were so many favorites that I tried on and it’s hard to pick just one. There is the Ray.Ban Tech Light Ray that has titanium frames making it unbelievably lightweight (literally weightless and apparently quite indestructible), the retro inspired yet modern style of Oliver Peoples, the hand-embellished glitter crystal sunglasses from Miu Miu, and not forgetting the delicate beauties from Tiffany. I have my eye on a number and shall check them out in-stores!

There are too many to share so I shall pick some of my favorites..

Travel bags

August 2nd, 2014 2 Comments »

For the longest time, which equates to at least 3-5 years of constant usage and travel, I’ve been relying on my durable trusty Marc by Marc Jacobs nylon tote. I would say that for what you pay, you really gain back in terms of quality and durability. The grumpy girl picture on the front of the bag has partially been scratched off and the bag has seriously been used to death. In real honesty, it’s still very usable but it’s been looking rather worn. I use it on every single trip. It’s fuss free and I don’t have to worry about it being dirty or scratched when I pass it through security checks and it’s rough handled or when it gets shoved beneath the airplane seat. That’s a reason why I prefer not to carry my leather bags on travel – too much to worry about and leather is heavy for travels.

While I recently acquired a MBMJ backpack which I pack in my laptop and stuff, I’ve been looking for a replacement for my tote. No luck at MBMJ as they’ve seem to stop producing that particular style in nylon :(  Then I stumbled into a Saturday.com by Kate Spade sale at Ion a few weeks back and by sale, I mean 50-70% off, I think I’ve found a worthy replacement :)

Wayfarer Urban Camouflage

July 22nd, 2014 No Comments »

My birthday just passed and it has been a blessed one. Amidst all the well-wishes, surprised, presents and treats, Ray-Ban surprised me (on my actual birthday itself!) with a special pair of Wayfarer that was delivered to my office accompanied with a handwritten note! How lovely is that?! It’s my very first pair of Ray-Ban (definitely not the last!) and I’m so happy to finally own a pair!

These lovelies are a new release from the Wayfarer series with a gorgeous camouflage design at the side. It’s textured with a fabric covering the matte blue frames and my favorite part is the silver mirrored lenses! Well that and the red box and case holder that accompanied the sunglasses. It’s so friggin’ gorgeous and it really made my day! Admittedly, it’s tad too big for me and they told me that I could go down to the PR agency to pick out a better pair but.. I love this pair too much (tehe) so I’m going to try get the frames adjusted to fit better at the service centre. Though it’s rather large for me now, I’m loving how well-made Ray-Bans are made. It’s very sturdy and it shields the glare very well. I don’t know why I didn’t get one earlier but I’m glad that I finally own a pair now.

I do love my sunglasses. I’ve quite a few pairs but hey! Can’t have too many ya? :)

Mesh panels and overalls

July 8th, 2014 No Comments »

Fun fact. I can’t recall the last time I wore regular denim jeans! The thinner jeans pants version from JCrew, yes, but not regular denim. It’s so friggin’ hot so I’m perpetually living in dresses and skirts. The crop top trend is supposedly back as well. Great for beach holidays and perhaps weekends, but not so great for workdays. I do love crop tops as it can be extremely flattering bought in the right fit and cut. The trick to make it work friendly is to pair it with a higher waisted skirt. And I’d never thought that I would wear overalls once again, but this reminds me a bit of a romper or playsuit so why not.

The lazy post

So called.. because I’m combining all my outfits into one post. You see, this is the reason why I can never be a fashion blogger. I can’t post for nuts and I’m too lazy to do detailed posts. I used to but it’s age I’m telling ya 😛

Sale: Celine Lipstick Mini

May 11th, 2014 No Comments »

Okay. I’m probably going to regret doing this but as my SA says.. if you don’t use it, lose it. So.. I’m making the very very bold move of selling a bag that took me forever to acquire..

I was initially intending to complete my Celine Luggage Tote range by having a red, blue, yellow and green in the various sizes. Actually, I have completed the collection. The Mini is in Lipstick Red, the Micro in Citron and Grass Green and the Royal Blue in Nano size. BUT, as my SA has persuaded me, sell the bag off since I hardly use it though I take it out to admire it every now and then – I’m in love with the color..So, I’m actually thinking of getting another red or pink in a Nano and Micro size. Hence, the decision to let go of the Lipstick.

I’m frankly half half about it and might regret it when it gets sold as to acquire another one will cost more, yes more. Regardless of size. That’s how much the price of Celine has shot up over the year.. insane madness really. But I guess it’s the limited availability of the bag that makes it in much demand and the price continues to creeps, no, shoots up. Same situation for Chanel :(
